  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. MDF as milling backer?

Dollarama here sells 8”x8” and 12”x12” 5mm MDF panels as art supplies, usually about $4 for four sheets. Make great spoilboards for my engravers, and perfect for test engravings before I slap down expensive real materials. My laser engraver has one of the 12” MDF panels taped down to the...

Tips/Techniques Vernier caliper mod to be able to measure dividers and trammel

No dimples on any of my cheap calipers. And my mill is mildly discombobulated right now, so dimpling will have to wait until next week. Project #42.

Lantaine Lathe, BC Interior Shuswaps $2000

I do like the marketing strategy of listing it for $15k then dropping to $2k to make it look like a bargain. A conversation from the past, laying out this principle: SWMBO, looking at a blouse while talking to the store owner: “I like this, can I get a discount if I buy two?” Ms. Fengi...
