Pretty much how I feel about it. It's a non-issue to me. I definitely appreciate you spending a bit of time thinking about it, but totally understand that it's not worth troubleshooting something that very likely might be something specific with my setup.

    D. Gray D&D - HEAVY DUTY KNURLING TOOL KIT

I generally bring my scissor-style knurler up to the work so that the two wheels are just shy of being on the diamater axis of the workpiece, finger tighten, and then use the cross-slide to roll the now tight wheels onto the center of the piece. Dunno if that's how you're supposed to do it, but...

Product T-handle hex key recommendations, please!

I have (the metric equivalent to) this set as well, which I've had for a handful of years. It's fine, they've held up well and I haven't rounded any of the ends yet. The stand is a bit annoying and I do wish they were colour-coded, but that's a complaint for most of these sets. Sometimes I also...

    Tool My most hated tool

wow, some really amazing self-built knurling tools on display here! In comparison, I feel like I hit the easy button on mine. I looked at the Doug Gray kits, but ended up just buying something off amazon. Having said that, these scissor-type ones have met my needs for the time being. Of course...

Show us your Tool Height Standard

It's easier to butt up the standard against a flat cutting edge, and I find the straight edge of the standard easier to measure against, vs how it would be against a curved edge. A curve can play tricks on you as it curves or falls away from the point of your tool.

Unable to post in the banner ad thread

Oddly, I'm still not able to post in this specific thread (and the banner ads announcement thread) unless I disable my ad blocker. All other threads seems fine. I also still get the 'Page could not be loaded' message when I hit these two specific threads. But ctrl+f5, and the page loads fine.

You'll have to excuse the poor focus, but here's my lathe standard. I remember seeing oxtools' vids on the subject and got excited to make a fancy adjustable threaded version, but in the end I chose this much simpler design.

    DavidR8's shop shenanigans

On the Lee Valley link I posted above, if you switch the size dropdown to small, Lee Valley has the same smaller one for $10 less. ETA, actually, now that I look at the listed sizes, the Lee Valley small is er, smaller...

    DavidR8's shop shenanigans

The large Lee Valley tent spray booth at $80 doesn't seem too expensive to me. https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/supplies/finishing/76184-portable-spray-shelters?item=03K0311
