    This is mine from the backside.... And a shot from the other side around the pocket. I don't think it is a ball, unless the sides are ground. It pivots freely, but doesn't rotate at all....

    I got to thinking and realized that I have a set of those as well..... Mine almost look and feel like maybe that area was left a little bit fat and the screw end was swedged into place and cleaned up. I am probably wrong though.... But I don't see a pin in mine either, and I think the end is...
