2.2kW VFD Drive Inverter, 220V AC... So, I bought this VFD on Amazon in 2021 -- it works, driving a 2hp x 3ph motor with it. Variable speed works but max Hz seems to be pre-programmed at 65 -- I'd like to dial it up to about 90 but can't figure out how to do it (limited info came with it) ...

I'm strictly manual machines, I've been using the Princess Auto stuff (usually in with the bandsaw blades). Someone on here said they mix water /Methyl Hydrate with it to help keep the bacteria down. I've been mixing windshield washer fluid with it (-40 mix is 50/50). No rust problems, so far...

For me, no thoughts of bearing fit-ups to "tenths". I'd be happy if I could cut a 1/8 or 5/32" keyway X 1" long in a shaft without having to remove it from the lathe. Of course, OD grinding would be a bonus too. What got me going down this rabbit hole was a youtube video of a guy cutting ~ 1/8"...

So, looking at the original Machifit (Banggood) motor with the ER11 collets -- I liked the idea of ER collets because it would allow the fitting of small endmills of various sizes -- wondering if anyone has tried using a small (2,3,4mm) endmill for cutting small slots such as keyways in steel...

I bought a cheap ($28 IIRC) electronic edge finder from Amazon. Totally useless. needs a 20mm collet, takes some strange batteries I'd never heard of. About 6" of stick-out of the collet and over .006" runout that far out. Should have known better. Oh... and the ball on the end is 10mm so offset...

Keyless are great for light to medium use -- not so great for heavy duty use -- the harder you work 'em the tighter they'll twist (tighten) themselves to the point of self destruction if you keep feeding them in.

Been looking for one of these, I see there has been some new production ones available @ $1,300 ~ $1500 USD (a bit rich for me). I tried a search on Aliexpress but only one came up for a BT series quill. Anyone else had any success finding these on Aliexpress or other sources ? Or maybe someone...

Just a heads up - This might be the same fellow in Kelowna that had same / similar advertised about 1 year ago (nothing wrong with the guy or the chuck - that I know of). In the original ad he said never used, he thought his lathe was D1-6 (because it had 6 pins) but it didn't fit - turns out...
