Just1-Sask-Guy Looking for a Half Decent Mill

I am from the SE as well and know the struggle your going through. I bought my knee mill about 4 years ago at auction in Weyburn. They had 2 of them from the college there. That was the only ones I have seen in these parts for sale. And no mine is not for sale :D!

36" Klopp Hydraulic Metal shaper at auction

Sorry auction is in Yorkton SK. Bid is now at $1,075 I am surprised it is that high but good as well. I was worried someone would try and pay scrap value for it, and we would loose another big shaper. Hopefully at that price the buyer puts it back in service, my wife is relieved that its selling...

36" Klopp Hydraulic Metal shaper at auction

CLICK ME! Just seen this come up for auction, I can't imagine it selling for a whole lot. I would hate to see someone buy it for scrap.

    Peerless Shaper Basement Install

Is that the original stand for the shaper? I cant imagine it would be, but I have heard weirder things too lol. If it is I would be leary of cutting it down, I am weird like that and like to keep stuff original! If its not cut cut cut lol.

    lathes and mill in Saskatoon

Well the big deal is, bidding on something then going to pay for it and then be surprised with hidden fees...Yes they tell you up front the buyers premium but don't mention much about the other "fees" that they tack on after the sale. I didn't say don't bid on anything, just be prepared to pay...

    lathes and mill in Saskatoon

They charge you a certain % when you pay with a credit card, and a different % when paying with debit. They are also known to randomly pull auctions for no reason, or get their employees to bid on lots that are selling too "cheap" to be the high bidder. Then re-list the items a month or two...

    lathes and mill in Saskatoon

Don't expect to get a deal on it, think the last Colochester lathes that sole there went for $10k... Plus the auction company has some shady fees as well.

Some Mods To the Belt Drive On My Mill

I have a 2hp 3 phase motor here to put on it one of these days, how ever money is tight (been out of work for a while) and I shouldn't buy a VFD yet so I will have to make due with what I have and try this out first!

Some Mods To the Belt Drive On My Mill

VERY INTERESTING!! I have the exact same mill and have the same complaints with mine as well! I wish it had a few lower speeds and this looks like a great idea! Thanks for posting it.

Sherline 4400, also a metal spinning lathe.

Sherline 4400 Metal spinning lathe. This is the sellers profile for the lathe, he also has a circle cutter that he is selling separate. Figured if anyone was interested in the lathe, they may want the cutter. I don't know what they are worth so it may be no deal thats for sure....

    Shipping Lathe

I recently used Manitoulin transport to deliver a crate for me. It was way cheaper then I thought it would be, and was really happy with them. I had no complaints.

Go to stores for tooling in Canada?

I totally get having a tight budget, heck I have been out of work for almost a year now. I am not saying the quality of the tools are crap. I am saying the way the government treats its citizens, the poor handling of COVID coming from that country and a bunch of other political reasons I would...

Go to stores for tooling in Canada?

Geez, I am surprised at all the recommendations to go buy chinese tooling here. I steer far, far away from anything china made now a days.....

    Garage sale

A trader rating system would be nice as well like Dusty mentioned. I have only been on this site for 3-4 months and see more and more people signing up. Might weed out the bad apples as well.
