  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Sorry auction is in Yorkton SK. Bid is now at $1,075 I am surprised it is that high but good as well. I was worried someone would try and pay scrap value for it, and we would loose another big shaper. Hopefully at that price the buyer puts it back in service, my wife is relieved that its selling...

    Is that the original stand for the shaper? I cant imagine it would be, but I have heard weirder things too lol. If it is I would be leary of cutting it down, I am weird like that and like to keep stuff original! If its not cut cut cut lol.

    Well the big deal is, bidding on something then going to pay for it and then be surprised with hidden fees...Yes they tell you up front the buyers premium but don't mention much about the other "fees" that they tack on after the sale. I didn't say don't bid on anything, just be prepared to pay...

    They charge you a certain % when you pay with a credit card, and a different % when paying with debit. They are also known to randomly pull auctions for no reason, or get their employees to bid on lots that are selling too "cheap" to be the high bidder. Then re-list the items a month or two...

    Don't expect to get a deal on it, think the last Colochester lathes that sole there went for $10k... Plus the auction company has some shady fees as well.

    I have a 2hp 3 phase motor here to put on it one of these days, how ever money is tight (been out of work for a while) and I shouldn't buy a VFD yet so I will have to make due with what I have and try this out first!
