  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. WTB 220v 1 phase 1 hp motor

Thanks Dan, it looks like the same size frame that @jgimp69 has offered up, I think I’m going to have to reinstall the motor and check for clearance, the chip shield angles right at the motor and it’s pretty tight. I may have to re-engineer the chip shield to accommodate the larger diameter of...

Yes, I think I might have to maybe go treadmill motor or something DC and adapter plate, it would be be the easiest route for a narrow motor. I just didn’t want to change the wiring.

I called today $400, which I’d think about paying if I was going to keep it, but I have a Logan 815 with a QCGB to take its place, so I don’t really want to spend that much to get it going, The Logan needs a motor as well! lol But it’s way easier to source!

It’s a Mashstroy lathe, made in Bulgaria, looks like the motor was too.

    WTB 220v 1 phase 1 hp motor

Thanks, I’ll look up the specs, it’s a European flange type IEC 71 spec motor with a larger shaft, a 56 frame might fit but it’s gonna be tight. I’m also looking at treadmill motors, but I’d like to keep the original switching.

Thanks, it’s not the capacitors, somehow the pins from the centrifugal switch let go allowing the arms to let loose to reap havoc on the windings.

Sadly my lathe motor grenaded on the weekend, I’m on the hunt for 220v single phase 1hp ish motor with a 3/4 shaft. It’s to fit an oddball Bulgarian lathe. I’m in the GTA

Beaver Milling machine, $1000, London, ON

I messaged the guy yesterday about it, he doesn’t seem to know much, 120v table feed and possibly cat 40 spindle taper. They are apparently fairly decent machines.
