Tig, you can convert a mig welder to Tig for cheap, no AC though, that's how I got into Tig, a cheap Lincoln mig 140 with the gas solenoid , bought all the parts off scamazon, I was into it for less than $500 bucks. My Mig welder was a transformer type with a shitty duty cycle, after the...

    Brazing Cast Iron

Look into Tig brazing with silicon bronze, and even aluminum bronze. I have used it a bit but I'm not a welder by any means, "I'm a grinder baby, not a welder." It's great stuff to work with, and when you Tig it it's very clean, cast iron I do believe is one of "sb's/ab's" good tricks...

I pulled the forward contactor as seen in the picture, sanded and cleaned them with contact cleaner...

when operated in reverse it turns off immediately, I'm no electrician, I'm learning as I go, however I do have family close by who are electricians, I should lean on them instead of me fumbling around, but hey, I have no issue sticking a multi meter on anything.

Yes she's a beauty, still had hardended factory grease in the cross side feeds, pulled them apart and cleaned them up, the machine is very tight, everything seem to slide like glass. You could be right, it has been sitting for a few years I think, and the fella I bought it off of only made a...

I think I found it, the reverse contactor pops right away, the forward contactor however likes to stick, in the on position, you can push in on the contactor button and it works fine, in and out no hesitation or stickiness, operate it from the controls is a different story.
