• Scam Alert. Members are reminded to NOT send money to buy anything. Don't buy things remote and have it shipped - go get it yourself, pay in person, and take your equipment with you. Scammers have burned people on this forum. Urgency, secrecy, excuses, selling for friend, newish members, FUD, are RED FLAGS. A video conference call is not adequate assurance. Face to face interactions are required. Please report suspicions to the forum admins. Stay Safe - anyone can get scammed.
  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    Hello!

Another welcome from Ontario Quinn. I love you your videos, they are great for a beginner like me. I am a long time beer drinker, that is starting to dabble in Scotch. (I have put a bottle of MacAllan 12yr Scotch on my Birthday wish list)

The Ad is still up. I was curious, so I to a quick dive into Central Machinery, because I have only ever seen them sold at Harbor Freight in the US. Actually found a website. If you want a chuckle, read their “About” page. https://thecentralmachinery.com/about-central-machinery/ Then check...

Just a note. If you get Amazon free shipping it will save more than 10%, depending on your order size. I did a quick look, and Accusize 0250-0102 are $0.96 more on Amazon, but I would save the $24 shipping charged by Accusize. But remember to go through our Amazon affiliate link on the home page.

Supplies Sourcing a special Tap and Die in Canada

Well, I just got off the phone with Taylor. Very friendly, unfortunately though, they can’t deal directly with me. I have to go through one of their distributors. Luckily, Levac is one, and we have a shop in town. So I guess I’ll have to go chat with them. I have a sneaking suspicion though...

Supplies Sourcing a special Tap and Die in Canada

Morning guys. Before we start, I am still learning single point threading, and it just won’t fit into my workflow right now. I use a 13x0.8mm Triple start tap and die for most of my pen models. They are used for the cap to body thread, to get a secure fit with minimal turns to remove...
