Woodworking at Matt-a-makers

I recently withdrew from the makers in Windsor and have moved my big project home. This table was started on July 17, about 3 weeks after major surgery. This is my 3 stripe design with local cherry and walnut. I will be building one more of this concept, a coffee table 22 x 42. This table is to replace a resin table that has been in my Livingroom for over 10 years. It will be used for entertainment computer and a few other electronic devices.

Anyway, here are some benchmark photos as it progressed. These were all taken at Meta-makers in Windsor.

Here is the table now located in my dirty shop (clean is big on my list). It has 4 coats of poly on it so far. I intend to put on about 8-10 before giving it a major sand to get rid of the ridges, then spray on after that. I hope to be done and in the house by end of September.. Meanwhile, I am starting a few others shortly too..

How is recovery from the surgery going?
All is good. I was mobile on the 2nd day out. I got busy really quick doing woodwork. Also I have been back to work for 4 weeks, with 2 being only 15 hour weeks. now fulltime. As far as the meds go, well I am on 3 new meds for missing hormones. Hydrocortisone, Levothyroxine and testosterone. All 3 potentially can make me have a short fuse, but I really think its the cortisone. I do well at work where they respect me and work with me, allow me to take time if I need to. At the public space, well that was a different story as there are different people flexing for power, and the president who does nothing to help out, trying to dictate others what to do..... So for my peace of mind and to not have an incident, I have decided a vacation (leave of absence) is needed.

I am working first on this big table, then finalizing my living room,. After that, I will be going back out to my shop and getting my router cleaned up, and put a vacuum system on so I can do most of this work at home. I have the capacity to cut up to 52 inches length... 98 at makers, and 120 at work.

Good spot out here where the pace of life is slower than the speed of smell. Feel free to stop by, see my messy shop, watch corn grow, relax by the pond. No stress here. Just an old man to bitch at who doesn't give a rats ass about anything!

Here is one that's getting glued up this weekend. This will be made out of Elm with epoxy filled in the black (pockets). This board will be attached to the counter between sink and stove.
