That is well used 1/2 collet i.e. the hole is 1/2 for size. No idea what is the collet type...

Bottom has 4 bolts but they are thread on.

74a collets? Just a junk stuff now? One is a "push type" https://www.toolholdershop.com/coll...QhhtlxFJgWxom1GMYlJz_PIr-iMQuppPW4NHo9mRHU0AM

No idea what it is - looks like a toy version of the NMTB40 horizontal spindle.

I have more collets tomorrow.

There were a few smaller spindle sizes, that are not in use any more, not even listed in Machinists Handbook. The 30 is still in use, but appears 35 is not common, though I did find a few tool makers will make up one on special order. There is a fellow with a web site that has a nice listing of spindle and collet sizes and some measurements, he is also puzzled by some of the different ones he has found. Can’t remember the site name.

Somewhat looks like one for a Delta Shaper. I have been reworking a spindle that a friend brought for a delta Shaper, had to turn down the shank on it and shorten just over 2 inches. It was all he could find on Amazon for Delta. It holds er20 collets. With 1/2 and 1/4 inch collets he can use regular router bits in it. Still have to make a new draw bar yet.

I had the same one on a Wadkin Bursgreen shaper. Never used it. Always sat in the drawer. You couldn’t get enough rpm to run router bits efficiently.

@Bandit
My big one maxes out at 10,000. Which is about the minimum for a router collet. I also have the Wadkin BRS like Martin had, that is a 2 speed, I know it’s slower, have to find the manual.
