There's one for sale like that for sale in Alexandria Ontario I seen it this week $3500 I think it was to much because sitting in water and could not find to much info on it .

I saw a YouTube video on how these made in India lathes are made. I would check in out throughout before putting money down.

Yes, the MK logo (with the wings on it) is for Mysore Kirloskar - India. They made quite a few lathes, with various branding. I have the 1550 Enterprise, purchased near new in 1983 - it has been a very good machine for me. I have used it a lot, never had any issues. It is not a real heavy duty machine (D1-4 spindle, MT3 tailstock), but for what it is I have no complaints.

Of course if the candidate machine has been thrashed, well that would obviously be a problem (but the problem would not be the country of origin). I’m pretty sure replacement parts not be available, but that is true for most of our old machines (and when they are available, such as for Standard Modern, the price is prohibitive).

I agree with MM, before buying a lathe check it out well.
