  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. VFD went nuts!

The l510 has an RS485 port and appears to be configurable on a computer. So if you have a usb to RS485 converter laying around with some miscellaneous crimps you might be able to hook up to it with a laptop.

There appears to be a configuration software available for the Teco drives… I am no Teco expert though, and my experience with them is fairly limited, maybe 5-10 times I’ve dealt with them.

Most mid grade drives have some sort of software for configuration, and the high end ones have GREAT software usually.

I know for the automation direct drives I recommend on here it’s a free software (gsoft2) and a usb-b cable and all configuration can be done on a laptop.

Schneider, Mitsubishi, yaskawa, Omron, Allen Bradley, vacon, danfoss….. I’ve hooked up to all of those drives on a laptop. Teco is likely comparable.
