Van Norman No. 12 mill

Located in a garage in Niagara Falls is my late friends mill. His Son (Jesse) would like it sold. Has been sitting idle for several years. We started it up today and sounds fine. Surface rust on ways but I don't think any pitting. Could go for a good price. Contact me here if interested and I will give Jesse's cell number. Cheers.............................Daniel

Might want to say if it has the more desirable 40 taper, motor voltage, and can he load. Not being critical, I just find details help get more interested eyeballs.

I used a VN 16 years ago and liked it.

I went to see this mill. Super nice guy. I talked with him for quite a while. The mill is a gem. It’s probably a war time mill, but in fantastic condition except from being dirty from sitting for 15 years or so. It has the Van Norman C style taper and takes the 5V Hardinge collets. We found a bunch of collets on the shelf. As well as the horizontal arbor, a boring head with collet a shell mill holder with collet. Van Norman vise, Van Norman rotating head. A box of end mills. Has power feed on X axis. There was a tailstock as well. I did not see a dividing head but it could be there as well on a shelf.I figure around 1800 pounds. The only bad thing is it doesn’t have a quill. With a good cleaning this would be an excellent mill. He wasn’t sure what to ask for it. I told him it was probably worth about 1800 dollars. He seemed happy with that price. If I didn’t have my universal mill I would be all over it. Thank you to Daniel for arranging to see this. Sorry I didn’t take pictures the lighting wasn’t very good.
As Daniel said there is a large pile of snow in front of the building so it can’t be moved until spring. Easy move with a roll off truck.
