Using a Starrett Last Word Dial Test Indicator

I'm just playing around as much as dialing in. I'm very familiar with Starrett #196 button back and the common 1" dial indicators. But dial test indicators were never part of our work . So I have question . When I bought a guy's milling machine tools a couple of things were a cheap 1/2 thou and a good holder. I had a cheap BusyBee holder that worked when you took slip joint pliers to it. I have used the dovetail dial test indicator to tram the vise. One time I knocked the probe off, and just pushed it back. It seems like it can do that. Can the the Starret Last Word do the same. It would be handy if it did.
