I finally upgraded to 4 wifi security cams with phone app, activity ones, alerts and sound detection along with voice...

Much better than a dumb camera that only offers a view.

At $109 bucks for 4 cameras I will buy another 4 and put 2 in the shop too

I’m going to finish off mine this year from the garage to the house drilling through the concrete was a pain but in the end there will be 2 in the alley, 1 in the garage and 2 on the house.

Yeah, well worth it for the peace of mind. I have two shops and keep an eye on them all the time. Cams with local storage are great until the power drops and they don't reboot! I'd suggest a UPS where it's needed. The alternative is a more expensive (remote human) monitored system, but I can't justify that cost.

Where did you find that deal?

Give your broker a call. My insurance discount for a monitored service covers the monitoring cost. I only monitor the alarm though, I do all the camera monitoring myself through their hardware apps - some are better than others. I like the ones that can discern the difference between a human casing me out, a squirrel looking for nuts, and a spider crawling on the lens. Nothing worse than an alert every minute while a spider builds a web. I'd love to find a decent camera with local storage on a hidden drive because my provider connection is too slow. So far, I have not found that on battery powered cameras - only hardwired and I don't want hardwired.
