I made arrangements to go get this today. Took my cube van. Fellow was going to load it for me.
I ended up not getting it , because I was worried about being over weight. Would have been at the limit for my vans CVOR. It is a large grinder
That being said if I was more prepared I would’ve bought it. Is very well equipped with collets, dividing head, various centres and jigs and arbors for grinding plain mill cutters, endmills, spiral cutters. Machine is 480/240 volts 3 phase.
The fellow is a great guy and has a lot of very interesting machines. Not all for sale. He is making room for a brand new lathe. He should be charging admission because he has some rare machines. Deckel pantograph, Adcock and Shipley mill, a couple shapers , a half dozen lathes, mills, bandsaws.
Spent some time talking with him. He is very knowledgeable and loves his machines.. The price is right $500 for the grinder and $250 for the accessories. They have to go together which I don’t blame him.

I am already kicking myself for not bringing it home

No Uhauls out there?

I have two cube trucks. We have to register a commercial vehicles in Ontario with a CVOR. Mine are registered for 6100 KG GVWR. I probably would have been under weight... I have 2 scales to go by on the way home.
If it was only 20 minutes up the road, I wouldn't have hesitated, but it was over two hours. It wasn't so much the weight I guess it was strapping it down properly inside. Ford has only 1x4 wood slats down the fiberglass cube box. In hindsight I should have brought a trailer.
U-Haul trucks are registered for under 4500KG.

I was hoping to buy just the accessories for my KO Lee, seller would not sell them separate. I wouldn't either if it was me selling. I was very disappointed on the way home.
Oh well wait for the next one. I'll be better prepared next time.

Who goes through scales? :p

I usually get lost near them and wind up on two lane somehow
