Two linear glass DRO scales -----SOLD----

A friend of mine has a 12" X 36" lathe. When he ordered his DRO kit he ordered the wrong length of scales. The short scale for the cross slide is 300mm(11.8") total length and the available travel is 180mm(7") so would be suitable for a lathe with less than 7" of cross slide travel. It is a "slim" scale with an end profile of 19mm X 28mm. The long scale (20mm X 32mm end profile) is 685mm(26.9") total length with 560mm(22") of travel so it would be suitable for a lathe with carriage travel less than 22"
These are generic 5 micron resolution (.005mm or .0002") glass scales.

Asking $100-(We just ordered the correct length scales for his lathe at a cost of $260)

22' is the maximum travel. Any amount of travel usage up to 22" would work fine as long as the 26.9" scale will fit onto the bed of your lathe. Glass scales can be cut shorter apparently but I've never done it. Your cross slide needs to be long enough to mount the 300mm long scale on as well.

Realistically your 1022 does not travel 22" along Z. I have a 620mm travel glass scale on my Z OAL is 726mm , 170mm travel (OAL 290mm) on my X on a King KC1022ML.

If you are ok to limit your Z travel a bit (maybe a bolt to stop it going too far or offset from headstock?) then the 685 would likely give you 560mm or perhaps a bit more depending on the specifics of that vendor's scales (my numbers are from the Aikron scales)

X axis, mount the read head behind the cross slide, keeps it out of the way, and bonus hidden when you cover the whole setup.
