  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

I've been tooling up my wood lathe.
Bought chuck, live centres, CBN wheels and various other bits and bobs. None of it lightweight stuff. Over $100 and shipping has been free from Lee Valley (ON), Busy Bee (ON), Woodchuckers (ON), and Woodworkers Specialties (BC). I expect only Lee Valley comes close to KMS in terms of sales volumes.

Today I get a $25 off coupon from KBC if I spend over $75. And they'd like to know why I haven't bought anything recently. Hmmm well your shipping prices are ridiculous.

KMS or KBC?
I saw a couple of CBN wheels on FB this morning. Last time I bought from KBC I balked at the shipping and they dropped it to about $17. I'm waiting for my coupon to order a height gauge.

Whoops KBC I edited my post to reflect.
While we're on the subject. KMS only wanted $100 to ship the 350 lb lathe to my house from Vancouver.
Yup saw those wheels.. only 6"ers. I wanted 8"s
