  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. I used one, in the last shop I worked in, in Cold Lake, that I have pretty good suspicions rode across the sea in the same sea can as this one, and am pretty well aware of what they cost new.

At retail, new, those lathes cost more than the Average House in Switzerland at that time! Classic example of why buying a used machine that was built UP to a "Standard", is a better deal than buying a new machine that was built down to a "Cost", IMO.

I know what the last one that sold on CADC brought in too, as I was the second or more places bidder (all sealed bids then, but I was not far behind what the winner paid!).

Still trying to figure out what I can justify to myself spending (I can afford far more!) to get my 'essentially, "Dream Machine".

I have a Colchester 2500 Master that came with a LOT of extra chucks, that I can raid to tool this unit up with.

Yeah, too rich for my blood this time around! Was on the road all day, but watched this one close on my phone,

Really hoping the lathe went to someone that will appreciate owning a Ferrari, rather than someone who just wants to sell Ferrari parts!

A further kick in to my own behind, that I should have bid higher on the better tooled up one!
