rotary table (15"!), $200, Brantford, ON

Great price, if it has not been munged up internally.

Really great price! Had I a machine suitable to place a 15 inch R/T on, at that price it would be worth a sight-unseen risk, IMO.

Betcha it'll clean up pretty well with a few minutes soak and a wipe-down!

Hmm. I’m going down to Brantford Sunday, for an exhibition opening (Micah Adams, who does some awesome small scale laser welded sculptures), I wonder if they’d hold it till then.

I don’t need it, to be clear (the 10” I have at work is fine), but if someone wants me to hold it for them until later, I don’t mind doing that. :)

(To clarify the ‘light for a 15”’, I’m seeing weights from 150-200 lbs online, so, uh, not exactly a paperweight, just not deadly)

Yeah, you would want to have a hydraulic lift table, or an overhead crane or hoist, if you wanted to move it easily.

But, reality being what it is, you should have one or both, already, if your mill can handle the size! Your back, I can attest from experience, won't handle it for long....

I added one of the skyhook cranes years ago. Stupidly expensive for what you get (imo) but my back is worth more. I could still hand bomb the 12" Yuasa, but as the years go by, that attitude and approach wasn't going to end well.

We bought both a hydraulic lift table, and a Skyhook, for our shop at my last work. Damn, but they were life changers!

We put the Skyhook on a rolly cart, with about 300 pounds of scrap on the lower shelf to provide some stability. Made chuck changes on our big lathe an breeze, instead of something to dread.

The Hydraulic table was mainly used to deal with the rotary Table and the Dividing Head for our mills, as you could lower the table down to match the level of the storage shelf, slide the accessory on to it, and then raise the table to match the mill and slide the unit onto the mill table. No lifting.

I had a spinal fusion done some years back. Two rods, four screws, and a Tantalum cage where my disk used to be... An experience I can heartily recommend avoiding, if at all possible!

I recall just shy of 200 lbs for mine so it’s just in that awkward zone of almost can lift or shove into position but really shouldn’t. Yeah, I should listen to guys like you trevj. But the Bport RT is sooo much lighter than the Troyke of same size I used to have. Admittedly that was a H/V. Gave that one away to a friend.

Just weighed my Bport RT (crappy scale so give a guy a little fudge factor for accuracy) 155 lbs including lifting wings. Looked up my old Troyke- websites are claiming 215 lbs.

The lifting wings are quite handy for manual two person lifting so worth a look see if still at the seller’s location.
