RF-30 Mill/Drill Dial indicator holder

So I'm looking for a dial indicator holder for a RF-30 mill/drill. Something that attaches to, or close to, the spindle.

Anyone own this Accusize piece?

Or any other suggestions? The RF-30 spindle casting isnt great for using a mag base indicator stand off of. I'd like to get something a little more easy to setup and repeatable to use - AND moderately inexpensive.

I have one. It’s ok. Not super rigid so getting consistent readings is a challenge

I have one of the HE20 holders, as @DavidR8 says it’s not very rigid, way too many flex points. Best one I have is a Noga NogaFlex NF1022, much more rigid and gets held in the chuck. A bit spendy but worth it.

I have an ENCO and LMS version of the "Indicol" holder, which are virtually identical to the HE-20; while they're convenient because they can be used without taking the tool out of the spindle, I've never been happy with them (although the Indicol and EDGE Technology are supposed to lock better). Maybe I should try improving the tightening mechanism (damn, another "After Shoulder" project!

I mostly use what Stefan has at times referred to as a "Jig Borer Style" holder:

Again I have one from ENCO back in the early 90's, plus some more recent acquisitions from Zoro:

Here is one in use with a vertical DTI, centering the bore of a hand wheel so I can drill a 3-hole pattern on the hub:

I like this style of holder for a number of reasons:

• It's simple, with only two swivel points

• You can see the face of the DTI though the full rotation of the spindle, particularly with the vertical DTI, but also with the horizontal ones (like Stefan uses, above)

• They are relatively inexpensive
