Reasonable price for steel plate?

slow-poke

I need about 5 sq ft of any sort of 1/2 steel plate, what is a reasonably price?
Also need about 1sq ft of 3/8" O1, or similar, reasonable price?

if I recall a good price for cheese steel plates (like 44w or whatever) is 70 cents / lb? so maybe a bit more for a homegamer quantity (I think hollow structural section was $1/lb not long ago)

i forget but if you're in the ottawa area I used to use loucon metals, their pricing was not bad. theres also metal pros who have an online quoting form which is nice to use, but idk if they sell much plate/sheet

a 4x8 is around 600-700$, figure the proper price is around 120$ for 5sq ft....but, buying a small piece, probably going to be 200$ or more

marketplace is a surprisingly good place to find off cuts, might get lucky. If your real adventurous go visit a couple welding shops and see if they will sell you something
