• Hi - We're having intermittent forum issues. Posts, alerts, and anything involving email like signing up or password changes are having problems but not for everyone or everywhere. Josh is working on it. No ETA right now. Thanks Josh - BTW this is a volunteer forum so SLA's are just best effort. EDIT -> I manually batch updated about 25 people stuck on the email notification. Try logging in now with your password. If you really can't get in contact us on facebook or if you know a forum member get them to ask us.

Mine is like a 4 way post with a quick change on one side. In use its pretty handy. Ask him what size it is. hopefully its a 35, because 45 is better suited for a 16-17" swing.

That is a *super* price for a Dixon 25,35 or 45. the 6 tool holders alone are worth that. If I were nearby it would be in my shop already.

too late ;)

well maybe not. I haven't sent a deposit yet.

I can't figure out the mounting or if a part is missing. How would this rotate and clamp when it has 4 bolt holes as shown?

EDIT: I was mistaken my brain misfired.

Mine is an Italian Rapid. I've seen Rapid tool posts before and *thought* they were US made, but no. I've never seen an original Dixon, but several other European clones as well.

Not as elegant as Aloris, but I think a little more stable.

damn I wish I had facebook just to ask a few more questions.. it may just fit 1440

Edit: Damn this made me sign up for facebook... but I can delete it later

Facebook won't give you access to marketplace till you use it enough to give them confidence in your intentions. Took me 4 weeks to get access to marketplace. Didn't need or want Facebook itself.

I got the tool post and holders today. The owner informed me that someone else was trying very hard to buy these out from under me, and was pushing to send an e-transfer to pay for them even. But The seller is a good lad and I had already offered to sent payment to secure them and he said it was not necessary. So I think that is a sign I got a good deal despite potential issue.

I do not think the tool post is an authentic Dickson, but I dont know them well enough to say definitely.

The tool post has a central bore, which I assume is to go over a short post. It has 3 bolts around the perimeter and one indexing pin instead. I'm not 100% sure that this will fit the lathe without modification to the tool post perhaps.

However, it came with a good assortment of holders that make the purchase a good deal.

Ten straight tool holders, one morse taper holder, five boring bar holders w/ hole, and three vee groove holders.

At least 3 holders are authentic... the three vee groove tool holders are marked.

I'm a little sad that there is no cut-off tool holder, but I cannot complain
