This is a Pringzing circle cutting shear. It’s one of the machines attendees at the Ontario April 6 meetup will see at Lighting Nelson and Garrett’s 14,000 square foot factory in Etobicoke.

It’s rated for 16 gauge steel, but is very frequently pushed beyond that. It will cut 3/32” brass and 1/8” aluminum. There’s an adjustment for material thickness, just a threaded collar that moves the upper blade, drive shaft and motor left and right, to set a blade gap.
It’ll do roughly 2.5” through to 46” diameter.
There’s an alternative pair of forming heads for it, that let you form a shallow (3/8” max) pan.
It’s also handy for cutting a circular hole in a piece of sheet, say a cutout for a junction box, in the middle of a mounting plate. Saves having to do it on the mill with a hole saw, etc.
At the meetup we’ll be seeing lots of interesting machines and tools being used in unusual ways. Come join us. 🙂
