Prentice Brothers Lathe

So I came across this old lathe, its a Prentice Brothers lathe. Seems to be 20-30's era. Good gear box has been added. has 4 chucks, and a really neat taper attachment. 13"swing, 60" bed. Nothing seems to worn, and when I fired it up, it was all working as it should be. Quick change threading/feed box to boot. Would be a real good lathe for someone who doesn't already have 3... The price is right too. ~800$. It is currently 575v.

I bought the mill in the background, and will be picking it up this week. If someone were to be interested I'd happily pick it up and if your in the Hamilton-Niagara area, deliver it for fuel.

It just seems to be such a nice machine to just sit.

Congrats on getting that mill Seemed like a nice machine for a good price. Hopefully somebody takes you up on your offer, and that lathe finds a home here.
Thank you! I have it's brother, a #2 Light universal. They were both in the same factory at around the same time based on an equipment tag. So it will be neat to reunite them.

Nice. Wish I had the space for one horizontal, let alone two lol. I would love to pickup a Hardinge Tm or Um someday though. I think I could find a spot for that...

I wish you the best of luck. My friend had the chance to get one for a song a few years ago, but we couldn't arrange a way to lift it out of this fellows garage, so it went for scrap..... They are beautiful machines.
