Listed a brand-new metalworking item on Ebay (selling for a relative). I didn't expect any bites from US as the shipping might kill but also figure their dollar is strong.
I received an offer at ~40% of my listed value from an American bidder. Low balls happen, no sweat, I simply rejected it with no counteroffer. The next day, I received a second offer from the same bidder for the full listed price and the following note:
They seem to have felt bad and decided to pay my full asking price, which is more than sourcing locally through the typical US online retailers.
Nice of them for making this decision and supporting Canadians. I put a small Canadian charm in the package for them.
