I'd argue salami is the most versatile meat choice for a sandwich

There is salami and then there is salami. My bride is Italian. So she likes her salami. My favorite is thin sliced Genoa Salami. That's stuff is awesome with or without the rest of the sandwich......

But I'd argue that the most versatile meat choice isn't Salami. In fact not even Genoa Salami. The most versatile choice is......... BACON!!!! Thick sliced, triple smoked, lean bacon.......

I also probably need to stand up for myself at work more
1) About 2 years before I retired I pushed back against our Marketing Manager, who never brought any clients in but would push push push those of us who understood what we did and how to help our clients: one day when I took my hands off the steering wheel after I parked in the lot they were shaking uncontrollably. I went straight into the President’s office and after confirming I could drive he sent me home. The next day I saw my PCP and he told me to back off and take care if myself.

The following week the Marketing AH started pushing again during the weekly meeting so I gathered my stuff, excused myself to the President and left the meeting. The other managers who expressed congratulations and I never had a problem with the AH again.

2) On another definition of “standing up,” I created a stand-up desk for my office 10 years before retirement and found it really helped in keeping moving in an office environment: instead of calling someone if I needed to talk with them I walked over to talk with them since I was already on my feet. When we relocated our office I was told I couldn’t take the setup with me, but the IT guy told me he was trying to get approval to get me a new stand-up desk: when I stopped by earlier this year, the senior managers now have this desk in their offices.

Ummm... I don't know about bacon with peanut butter, or bacon with pickles, cheese and mayo, or bacon with sardines n mustard.... maybe peameal? I would loosely award one point towards bacon being in the running

You are crazy. I can't imagine anything better than bacon with any of that stuff. Of course, I take the pickles out of my hamburgers so why not that other stuff too.

Yup, a bacon/sardines/pickle sandwich sounds AMAZING after I pitch the pickles and sardines.......

When we were in Halifax, they were selling chocolate covered bacon at the shore concessions

Mustard on sockeye would be icky, so I have to concede the salami aspect of the sandwich combination as salami versatility may exceed salmon versatility.
A weekly staple here is fish and fry fry.
Horseradish Dijon mixed with Worcestershire sauce on a salmon fillet sprinkled with cracked Italian pepper in a air fryer for 20 minutes at 375 in one bin and frozen fries in the other half for 20 minutes at 390.
The salmon almost tastes smoked.

Aside from keeping busy with shop and yard work, mostly our activity is walking or hiking. We are fortunate to have some good spaces nearby to enjoy some pathways for quick outings, usually about and hour to hour and a half. Typically we get out four to six days a week. Lately we've been trying to get in one outing a week where we drive to a different area of the city or nearby park to get some variety of scenery.

I've never been into running, about the only time I run is if something is chasing me.

Tried that at Ocean City, NJ years back: was about what you would have expected from a boardwalk joint (they need to stick with Salt Water Taffy – no pun intended).

Duff Goldman tried a version of chocolate covered bacon in one of the Food Network "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" episodes - it was pretty fancy IIRC.

My wife doesn’t like bacon. I almost didn’t marry her because of it but looking back that was extremely short sighted.

Now, when we go out to eat, and she gets something with bacon, i make her ask for it ON THE SIDE.

And I eat the bonus bacon.
Umm....does she have a sister?

I have to agree with @Engmaxx .
Watch what you eat and control your calories intake.

I have tried to keep up Biking for 10 kms, a few times weekly.
Biking is Low impact, increases your heart rate and helps with blood flow.
I will be 63 in July and it still feels great to bike around.
