I have two of these, but the wont tighten...

I hope it is just in need of hydraulic fluid.

Anyone have this model and a manual and parts list? They're discontinued and I can't find squat on them

This YouTube video shows a guy explaining a tightening fix of the exact same 7019B model. Starts at 5:00 mins. in.

Thanks, I found that too independently but I appreciate that you posted it here. Great resource.

Both my stands went from flaccid nonagenarian to viagra taking 40 year old with just 1cc each of oil. They're super solid indicator stands, so I wonder why they were discontinued.

You got it disassembled obviously. Were the hydraulic pistons difficult to remove because of aging O-rings, or just needed a magic touch to get them out?

Years ago I had a bad Chinese clone attempt at one of these. It leaked & went limp just sitting on the shelf for a couple months. I installed new/different O-rings which improved it but it was still an iffy contraption over time. I think the overall QC/tolerances were just sloppy. I noticed the dovetail clamp was also putting dubious grip marks on my indicator so that was the last straw, I kept the mag base & filed the rest under Round Bin.

I guess nothing wrong with hydraulic if they are built properly. Another thing I read about is entrained air when filling or topping up, I guess no different than an auto system but even smaller volumes. Maybe there is a certain way to hold the assembly to kind of self purge when filling? Anyway, looks like you got a nice setup there.

Once I decided to have a legitimate go at it and got out my pliers with leather covered jaws they came out easily. The pistons spun easily, it was the vacuum that was holding them tight.

IF I was filing from scratch I'd use a syringe and care but in this case I just tipped out from a 4 liter oil jug that was almost empty. Easy Peasy. The rings were perfect. I suspect that these were sitting unused for a few years at least... I'll ask the next chance I get.
