Plugged in the tig welder yesterday after a long sabbatical . An nadda!,,,, welder has being dormant for several years and now won’t run. Screen lights up, voltage adjusts but nothing happens. Checked all cables etc, gas sanded down the tungsten ,,,, still nothing. Press the foot pedal an try striking an arc,,,,zip nothing not even any gas coming out. Some part of the control board is malfunctioning. Any body know of a welder repair shop in B C, preferably the interior. Im not an electronics guy but all things are looking to a electronics issue.

I haven't had any experience with these guys, but they say they specialize in Miller and Lincoln welder repair and service and have some kind of satellite locations in Kamloops and Kelowna where I presume you drop off and they ship out to a main repair shop.

Hopefully it is a cheap and easy fix....

I too, am no electronics guy and my memory is getting a little old.
I do have a Miller Econo Tig and I do have a memory of taking the foot pedal apart a few years ago and cleaning up some of the contacts in there -- don't remember the details but it might be worth a look in there.

If it’s the foot pedal that’s the issue, you should be able to bypass it. Looks like setting Output to ‘On’ will give you Lift Arc/scratch start Tig.

Yeah, mine came with one, didn't know they were available without. Mine plugs in with a round, multi pin, screw on connector. Had mine since ~ 1997, done a fair bit with it, been a good little welder.

Ground not grounding? You say it's been sitting for a time, have you loosened, cleaned and re-tightened all the cable connections to make sure of a good contact? You may even need to reseat all the cct board connections and relays.

One piece of gear I worked on years ago needed all the cct boards be pulled and the contacts cleaned every six months to keep it running.
