Hi,

This is a family friends lathe they are selling from the fathers estate. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you in contact with the seller.

John Conroy from this form was kind enough to go up and check it out. I have included his pictures and notes from his visit. I was looking at buying but with condition and shipping to Chilliwack BC I am passing on it and trying to help sell it.

"The back of the machine is right against one of the garage doors so it is accessible for loading. Total length is about 80" and the bed measures 50" long and about 11.5" wide which is very wide for a machine this size. It has an unusual bed design with 3 V ways and 2 flat ones. Visually the long axis ways look very good with no obvious wear. There is significant wear on the cross slide ways and the cross slide lead screw nut is quite worn with about .080" backlash. I cleaned and lubed both sets of ways and the long axis moves nicely. The cross slide gets tighter when moved toward the operator which could mean wear in the ways and gib. It has an unusual thread pitch on the cross slide with .250" per turn of the handle. I verified this with a nice Mitytoyo indicator with a mag back that is with the machine, it moves .125" per turn which would .250" diameter. t has been converted to 240 volt single phase with a new 5HP Baldor motor. There is a welder style pug on the cord and a receptacle in the wall so I plugged it in and ran it for a few seconds. The clutch works nicely and the headstock sounds fine. It's not as big as I thought and would be a great hobby lathe I think. I would estimate it weighs 3500-4000 lbs. Comparing it to my lathe which is 3200lbs it is very similar in size. With the motor mounted at the back it's about 18" deeper than mine which has the motor underneath the head stock. It has a taper attachment but the anchor end of it looks shop made but should be OK. You can see by the threading charts it will cut just about any metric or inch thread but I didn't see any extra change gears, looks like there should be another 66 and a 60 tooth one."
