I need to learn more about this skill. This is a cheesy overview, but I'm going to do some more research on this topic. Hoping someone out there knows more and maybe can reference a good text????? Is there such a thing as a spring bible?

I always thought there were heat treating guidelines and techniques such as "hot dipping" in old engine oil (carbon rich) to make a proper spring. The tip on the V block and belt grinder was helpful.

Lots to learn....

I have some info.
These articles mostly address small springs made from music wire and such. If these don't do the job for you, I have more articles and links. If you know the pitch of a spring you need to make, some use threaded rod of the appropriate TPI as a template.

Thanks. These will be fun to read.

I don't have a specific spring I need, I just wanted to learn more about this.
