Due to the locations I work, often there are rules about phone and camera use. However right now I’m at a spot I can share a little.

I work as a field machinist, primarily repairing large dirt/mining equipment. Currently working on a track frame rebuild. Tonight’s job is to finish the bearing bores on the drive end of the frame.

23 and 5/8” diameter, +/- .001.

Had this problem at most of the food processing facilities I visited, but I needed to document what was going on so the design team could understand both existing conditions and the client’s expectations. Usually was allowed to take photos but had to have them reviewed before I left.

Field machining & millwright work is always interesting & usually a challenge: looks good.
