Ooh, a shot across the bow!

Let me find the other SIX Colchesters that are in your area and half the price.
Can't argue with the climate but some would argue about the view.
Story - when I was in MooseJaw the local Chamber of Commerce sponsored a get together to try and talk the leaving military members into retiring in MJ. When she asked I said I was from BC, she asked what BC had that Sask didn't, I said mountains,,,,,, she mountains just block the view.

IMO anyone that would voluntarily live year round in MJ has messed up ideas about what constitutes a decent view.

3/4 of the population leaves during the winter, because frankly for about 6 months there is no view except cold dark barrens.

Now, I do love me a southern ontario farmland view, but I'm willing to climb extreme trails for the right mountain view.

Thanks for the link.
FB isn't something I do, I know I may miss out on stuff but nothing I can't live without.

My preference would be a live arm rather than a slider. But it's not something I need today so there's no panic on my part.

A lot of Saskatchewan kids have seen more than a lifetimes worth of rocks picking them in the field after school.
Seeing big jeebus piles of them with snow on top has limited appeal.
Nice for the occasional drive through but mostly just in the way.

In the summer the province can be downright stunning, from north to south... I've traveled it all extensively with my camera in tow. I'd love to be able to spend 2 weeks to a month there again some day...

Yyyyyuuppp! Born SW of Humboldt. Know exactly what you mean!

Wonder how many on here know what a stone boat is? I have my captains license.

Oddly, I should make one for here in S Ontario. When folks ask me what I grow, I usually tell them: Non GMO GMF Rocks.

On the other hand, the absolute best place for a rock is on a pile some other poor bastard built, so I guess maybe mountains aren't all bad.
Still in the way though.

I had a similar conversation with an Exec from Pratt and Whitney, who was trying to hire us away from the Forces. (not very hard, really, to be fair)

When I asked about the operation in Lethbridge, she said "Oh, it is no different than here!". I replied that there was one difference that would make a huge difference to me, that was, that if I drove for twenty five minutes away from work at the end of the day, I could not still see the parking lot I started out from....

When were you in Moose Jaw? I went there in '92, left in '99.

I was in Sask., a bit North of Saskatoon, last week. Looked like at least six more weeks of winter there!. So one more thing BC has that SK doesn't. Four actual Seasons!

The tabletop flat around MJ, is a prehistoric lake bed. Good thing about it, your dog can run away and you have a couple days that you can still see him!

There is a random leftover from glaciation, a huge hill, left, South West of Avonlea, a town South of Moose Jaw. Pretty neat view! Curve of the earth, and all that. Quappelle Valley is pretty neat too!

Yep. The ones that can, get the heck outta there, in Winter. My theory was that the reason the Farmers out there built such big houses was, that if you have to spend all winter in it, you eventually will need to find a corner nobody else uses, to get some peace and quiet!

I used to let my do run... then he stepped on low cactus and freaked out and never wanted to go out again.

I used to travel south of MJ all the time, but my fav place was south of old wives lake, a town called moss bank IIRC had the best home made onion rings.

I did some blacksmithing there, during their Heritage Days.

I wish I had a better memory... west of MJ there was a town with a museum that I thought did some heritage days, it is where I fell in love with hit and miss engines. But I can't remember it. Every time I drive the transcanada thru SK I keep trying to recall where they heck it was so I can stop but no such luck. All I see off the highway is a thick legged disproportioned cement moose.
