  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. Thread to talk about inserts, types and codes, where to buy, how to use.

I've been trying to understand insert types so I can order some for my CHEAP busy bee tool holders. BB wants something like $10 per insert. Looking around for help understanding insert types - e.g. what doesTCMT32.51LX A25Z mean ? - I've found this site to be really helpful:

I used HSS for many years, and am much more recent to this carbide thing... There are a zillion videos on carbide tooling, much of which is repetitive - but doesn't answer much of the fundamental need: "where to start?"

I wish I had seen 'this old tony' on youtube before I spent a lot of money His video on where to start on carbide is much better than most. it ca be seen at :
