Indexing/Dividing head manual question

Most Asian dividing heads are clones of the original B/S design. Grizzly has a pretty good manual. I have a pdf copy here.
Those universal dividing heads usually come with gauge blocks????
I did not know that. What the heck are they for?

Apparently the fellow that had the dividing head also had a set of gauge blocks as well.....
Ah, I see! That makes WAAAAY more sense. Silly me for thinking otherwise.
I'm my defense, I have a grinding indexer that has an integral sine bar system that uses sine gauge blocks. That's prolly what led me to conclude such a silly notion.
That's my story anyhow......
This manual is for my vevor dividing head looks very similar model numbers are bs0 or bs1 I believe this maybe of some help.

It does appear to be very close to what I have.
But mine has a rich, golden patina, rather than that cheap, tinny looking stuff.
