I haven't been to a coffee shop in 20 years so I'm out of the loop.
What's wrong with Tim Horton's?
Biggest reason is it isn't Canadian, it was sold years ago to Brazil I think. Second, the foods terrible, the coffee is barely drinkable, you're gambling on getting anywhere near what you ordered, the stores cleanliness has gone out the window. There's other reasons but it's leaning towards politics so I'm glossing that part over

Well that would explain it! I thought it was the Bums but if Brazil owns Timmie’s it might be Juan Valdez’s ass.

McDonalds has way better coffee than Tims since 20+ years ago. McDs is my go to if I'm too lazy to do a pour over or use the robot for espresso at home:

I agree about McDonalds coffee. It's the only item I have ordered from there in years as I consider their food to be a step below the wrappers in nutritional quality.

I prefer coffee at home. Keurig when it needs to be fast. I use the plastic reusable pod and Kicking Horse grounds. I buy the pre ground bags when they go on sale at London Drugs. Usually about $11 a bag.

After supper I brew in a Moka pot. I have it down to a science. Fresh ground whole beans and nothing else. Tend to experiment but I like the Rampage brand.

My wife knows I love the bean and the occasional espresso. Before getting the Moka she suggested I look at one of those high end espresso machines, like a Nuova or Rancilio😳. Got the Moka pot on sale.

As for spicy food, I grew Banana, Thai, Habanero, Ghost, Carolina Reaper, and Armageddon peppers in pots. Bumper crop. Made a lot of salsa. Dehydrated the surplus, made flakes, mixed them together, double freezer bagged, put them in the freezer, and sprinkle on my food when required. I know I had some killer peppers when I gave a mixed bag to our friend from Trinidad and she commented how hot some were (probably the Reapers).

I'm so busy and tired these days that I just grab a McDs coffee most of the time lol Helps that it's just around the corner.

I got the Robot because it's relatively cheap comparable to a high end auto espresso machine. I also like that there aren't any extra electronics or parts to fuss with. I also have an aeropress but found the pour over to be the easiest while still being tasty. I have two grinders, one for espresso and one for pour over grind. Haven't touched my freshpress or moka pot since forever.

I'm lucky to be relatively near a roaster that does small batches that can do as little as 1/2lb at a time fresh to order pick up in an outdoor locker in 24 hours. They import beans from all over the world

You're a true peppers expert! Sounds super fun and lots of different uses out of your garden. I like my Frank's red hot for wings and the Sriracha on a few things but otherwise it needs to be some type of India food or whatever to be tasty.
