  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

I'm retiring in a few years and am starting to get some time to play with all the tools I've accumulated so looking forward to becoming an active member.
I've actually been registered since 2021 but got caught in a catch 22 circle trying to log in and being told that some member already had that email address (which was me of course) I could not reset my password and couldn't log in.
I've been trying off and on for the last few years and finally the Login gods smiled on me

Welcome from SW Ontario.

Chazz is right. Also, if you do most of your buying before you retire, SWMBO won't notice it. After you retire, the girls develop a penny wise attitude toward everything except their stuff. Helps to have a retirement occupation that you can buy "required essential" stuff for.

I started farming. Best thing I ever did!

That’s what I use my income from Village Press for.

Welcome from Vancouver! Retirement means you can spend 6 hours making a custom fastener that you could buy for $25. Mind you, most of us were doing that pre-retirement...

Welcome from Lillooet BC..... I am also on the cusp of retiring and like you, I am rapidly filling the shop with enough projects to keep me going well into my 100's..... ;)
Lillooet, there's a name I haven't heard in decades, I was born and raised in Vancouver and during the summers me and my buddies would drive up to Lillooet as a starting point to raft down the Fraser and through Hell's Gate.
Always liked the town, hot and dry, just the opposite of Van.
