  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

I picked up an used LED work lamp this morning and this little thingimjig appears to be burnt out.
Is this a commonly available piece that can be purchased or am I out of luck?
Thanks

If you can count the number of LEDs it should give you and estimate of the power supply voltage (if they are all in series) about 3.5V per LED typically (varies from 2.8 up to 4V). Current is probably 20-30ma, assuming they don't have groups of LEDs in parallel, then 20-30 per group.

That's a very unsafe looking power supply.

Joshua great googling, I don't speak Russian and did not try the translation feature but looks like an excellent link.

Skippyelwell.....Probably just don't leave it unattended and assume the low voltage leads may be low voltage across them, but might be at hazardous voltage WRT Earth if the little transformer is iffy (many are because most (90%) of these make them for pennies transformers from China are not wound with the important safety requirements that are required for a certified product in Canada.
