Just a quick CV . Susqu-- There's no trick to getting old -- just sit around doing nothing and sooner or later you're old.
As for me, I made a living as an electrical engineer designing mainly electrical controls, automatic and otherwise. I've been interested in metal working (and many other things) for many years so accumulated a bit of machinery, an Atlas/Craftsman 618 lathe and a hybrid lathe/ milling machine plus drill press and many lesser tools. Recently moved in with my daughter and her husband in Waterloo from Peterborough and now more or less bogged down getting set up to do something interesting (I don't know what). In the past some of the more interesting work was designing and building lab equipment for my daughter who is a physicist. Microscope illuminators and apparatus to measure specific gravity..
That's probably enough said for the time being.

I don't wanna get older layin around doin nuthin. I wanna get old wearin myself out doin cool stuff and bein stupid. Learnin new things is cool too. I already forgot more than I know so learnin new stuff is high priority. Can't let my brain reach negative content!

A hearty welcome from downeast, a Bluenoser in this case.

Sounds like you’ll fit right. Lots of varied life experience & skills around here. You aren’t the only Engineer either, there are a number here that like to get their hands dirty. All good fun!

D

Welcome from Calgary!

I'd rather wear out than rust away. Glad to see you are keeping your hand in. Went to Waterloo for Systems Design Engineering. Love the area. Went West right after I got married.
