Group Buy - Way Oil and Cutting Oil

Hi,
A while back I organized an informal group purchase on some A36 steel a guy was selling - it was too much for any one person but split 4 or 5 ways it was affordable.

It went so well I'm going to try this again - this time it's Way Oil and Thick Cutting Oil

Here is the way oil (I think the 50 SAE weight, unless there is a better choice?)
https://www.kbctools.ca/products/FLUIDS/LUBRICATION PRODUCTS/INDUSTRIAL OILS/3352.aspx

And the heavy cutting oil
https://www.kbctools.ca/products/FLUIDS/CUTTING FLUIDS/CUTTING @@26 GRINDING FLUIDS/3161.aspx

The cutting oil is ~$20+$8 shpping in a 1 litre size so if we team up the gallon size is about half price. The Way oil is only in gallon sizes but that is probably more than I want right now anyway so splitting it up makes sense.

I would need 2 or 3 others to commit to buy to make this work. I would buy 1 gallon of each fluid and split it into four 950ml portions. Cost will be about $20 for 4 people, including me, and ~$27 for 3 (and each person would get a bit more oil of course 1.25l). You would also have to come to Acadia to pick it up and bring two containers. You can pay me at pick up.

So - who is interested?

Is there much of a difference between that Ridgid cutting oil and the Tap Magic Xtra thick? (https://www.kbctools.ca/default.aspx?page=item detail&itemcode=1-444-70016T) I was going to place my order tomorrow morning at KBC for a TON (Well 187 lbs of tooling and instruments) including the Xtra thick cutting oil, but I could remove that one to get in on this. Could not find if this Ridgid stuff is safe on Aluminum. Do you know?

Should also ask if you prefer only people who are getting both. I'm set for life on way oil.

Yeah I’m proposing both to take advantage of the combined shipping. That tap magic oil seems more specialized and four times the price by volume. Not sure about the performance difference.

Ok, I'll place an order outside of this. Thanks for pointing the price out. In my head I somehow thought that was a 1L bottle (same as the Ridgid stuff)...it's only 500ml.

When you guys divvy up, this kind of plastic is particularly good at storing things like oils, thinners, volatile's. I cant recall the name of plastic but its kind of rigid. Lee Valley has gotten spendy but there is a place in town that sells these bulk & new metal cans & jars too.

There is a different kind of plastic squeeze bottle you see in food supply places. Its a softer plastic. They are ok for water based liquids but not as good for hydrocarbon fluids. The plastic gets sticky & eventually breaks down (the chemicals must be kind of leaching in).

I bought some of this a while & its very thick. Like honey in a cold cupboard. Almost a bit too gooey for my liking. Drilling is fine, it hangs on vertically & doesn't fly away. But it also likes to hang onto chips from tapping which I don't particularly care for. I like Tap Magic products though so I mixed a portion of this thick stuff with some Tap Magic regular cutting oil (also contains epx) & got it to a viscosity I preferred. It didn't go weird on me, so suspect they are compatible. Not sure how I'll use up 16 oz!
