Any trades guys here have opinions on this saw? When did they stop making them? Or have they? They seem like quality but are not very common. I have never seen one on a job site in my time.

That one is in great shape. I have seen ones beaten to hell, look on ebay for examples of that. These bandsaw are not a cheap products. Nothing greenlee sells under their name is cheap. Greenlee did have several plants making lots of equipment. But sadly they did get bought and sold a couple times over the last 50 years and they closed out some of the production. I would treat that bandsaw like you would treat a top of the line Milwaukee.

Greenlee has a great history. Over the years I have had many greenlee tools. The best 2 inch power pipe bender that I got from a shop that had it sitting on a pallet on top of a sea can for who knows how long. Got the motor repaired. Some parts from greenlee and it was used in our shop to bend rigid for years. New these benders are over 10k, I think in the end we maybe put 1k in to it. We had a crimper that used makita nicad batteries and a cable cutter as well. Chicago pipe benders, hand benders, hydraulic benders, like hundreds of knock outs, the list goes on and on. Lots of greenlee stuff gets abused because people have no idea what they are worth.

As djberta already mentioned, Greenlee has always been considered a high end tool. Lots of tools designed for the electrical trade.

I remember years ago when the Greenlee tool rep showed our electrical team a cordless knock-out tool. You could use it with one hand, standing on ladder, in a busy ceiling space, and it took a few seconds. Game changer. Great tool that got used a lot and lasted for years.
