For anyone that cares, @equinox123 is selling some of his dad's Goldenrod oilers - from the 1980s and 1990s. I can attest that their triggers are much more robust - I bought 2 from him yesterday.

Let's help him out - he has a shitload of stuff to sell and he is being very reasonable about prices.

So if someone I know ordered a set of these from Lee Valley, what is the best way to beef them up BEFORE they break so they don't break so easily?

Fill the back hollow of the handle with epoxy? Maybe strengthened with glass or swarf?

Contact goldenrod and ask for a replacement?

My friend's (big hairy guy in the mirror) handle is not bent or broken yet. He just wants to beef it up so it doesn't break in future.

Brazing or epoxying in a rod of steel sounds good. Not really keen on Brazing though - so prolly epoxy.

Daub of jbweld on the back of the pump handle at the bend area?

I was just in teh shop and looked at my two goldenrods: I tried bending the pump handles by hand/fingers and while I didnt 'give er' I couldnt bend or flex them noticeably. *shrug*

I don't think that particular oiler is designed for pressure lubing like a grease gun. Yes, the handle is stamped and flimsy, but filling the oil cups is not an issue. Or even the ball type oiling ports, like on a chuck or live center, is not a problem, definitely more hand pressure, but if the line is not clogged, I don't think you need to strengthen the handle.
