Attended one yesterday...and ya gotta be careful. I bought a brand new tap & die set ( Vermont American, so I think it good quality), complete set with not one of the tools being ever used, included 3 sizes of tap & die handles along with other trinkets needed when threading.
The thing is the plastic container legend shows all NFT and NCT contents so I quickly snatched it from the table before any of the other vultures grabbed it, offered $20 and was accepted.
After i got home I was admiring my purchase when I noticed something amiss... the first die i looked at was metric....along with every other one in the complete set, I had a 3mm to 19 mm metric set instead of the SAE threads I wanted....ohh well it was a good buy anyways.

Holly molly, I shouldnt complain to loudly I guess. Vermont arent bashful in pricing their products, googled Amazon last night and they price a 6mm die at $62 US and the 6 mm tap at $58 so i looked for the whole set (58 piece) and found one on E-bay....just wow...priced at $1020 U S so I guess I better quit bitching!!

I'm sure the old fellow that originally bought the set didnt pay anywheres close to that he was as frugal as they come and has been dead for olmost 20 yrs.

I recently pick up a bunch of VA die nuts, a mix of metric and Inch. Not bad quality, I'd say middle/upper level hardware store grade from the 80's/90's before everything went cheap offshore.
