Here's the sellers write up...

Built between 1865 and 1905 this Blaisdell Engine Lathe doesn't reference "& company" on its thread pitch gear reference.
That leads me to suspect its closer to 1865 than 1905.
It comes with wrenches that could be original to the machine.
If not original they are interesting in their own right.
It Includes a 3 and 4 jaw chuck, spare jaws, boring bars, variety of tool holders, a selection of HS tool steel, tapered spindles, gears sets for threading, includes off on reversing switch.
The lathe also includes the original cone clutch and counter shaft driven by a 2hp single phase motor.
The counter shaft still has a pedestal far changing belt speed.
For its age the machine is in very good condition and is useable.
It could use some repairs, new belts, and proper lubrication.
There may be some wear that needs to be countered with shimming.
Nonetheless its an excellent testament to the endurance of products when a manufacturer competed with quality rather than price point.
( I also have a 3 phase motor with a vfd that would provide infinitely variable speed control with in it ranges )

Boy, if I thought I could get 1500 for my old 1880s lathe, it would be gone already.
