On our holiday in Wales we went to Welsh Winds Distillary and used this to distill 96% Ethanol with botanicals to create an 83% custom gin. We then added distilled water to bring it down to 43% and bottled it. Along with a custom label etc. it was one of the bottles we brought back.
It was a sweet little still and they had 6 of them in a row for up to 12 people to do the tour and gin making experience.
I'm wondering if anyone knows how the onion head or helmet bulge is made in that copper. Do they start with a flat sheet and spin it into the shape or start with the round tube and spin it? I didn't look closely at it so I don't know if there were seams.
Easy enough to buy one
But mostly curious how they are made.
