No. That 20mm-20tpi thread on my mill is the dumbest thing I've seen today.

But I don't have any interest in one of those either.

Since you found it you should buy one, try it out, and let us know what we are all not missing.

20mm-20tpi thread

For real? Not 20mm 1.25mm pitch? That's only like 0.0007875 off? (Of course I guess over the length of the screw that could get pretty bad. You didn't say whether it's a feed screw or just holding a sheet metal cover on... But 20tpi makes it simpler to use imperial dials, so there's that.)

OK, I had to watch the video. The guy who demonstrated "wood working and carving" must have been recruited from marketing and was liable to shove the blade into his finger. I guess the vise wasn't quite enough to hold his work piece by itself.

And no mention of detecting that your finger is in the vise, à la "saw stop".

I confess, I have a socket with an adapter for a cordless drill that I use for a fast feed to open and close my mill vise, and it can save time.

Yup, for real. It was a very important thread. The one that holds the knee crank on my mill.
