I have the same drill press as that only mine is from the 40's or 50's. They are nice drill presses, mine is a little fast for metal with the 1750 rpm motor, but I have an 1140 rpm 3phase that should be perfect.

We put an 1140RPM motor on @ducon drill press with a VFD. it has so much torque it will rip your hand at 50 RPM!

That's what I am hoping for, well, maybe not the hand ripping part, but the low speed and torque.

I picked this thing up today.

Nice guy, has a bit of a wood shop.

The plan is to find a 3ph motor for it, I already have the perfect VFD sitting on the shelf.

Most standing drill presses around here go for around 400$ used….. 250 was a good enough deal so I didn’t haggle.

Another one in the stable.
