Was out in the shop after lunch and my daughter showed up, i took advantage of her to help me position some beams i was cutting then asked if she wanted to weld a bit. Several years ago we spent a week building some round bale feeders and she welded a bunch but hasn't done any since. Took a little bit with me coaching although i'm not a great welder. She did good, then i had her do some cutting with the new propane/oxy torch one of the boys gave me last winter. She picked up that quick but will need practice, i do as well. A good 3 hours spent, but if she's taking over the cattle operation she needs to learn these skills.

Daughter welding again.

I took a welding course in college years ago and in the class was one girl among us young guys. I remember one of the instructors telling us that she would likely be a really good welder by the young of the course. He was right, she could weld better than 90% of the guys in the class. I think she had plans on returning to the farm and I'm sure she was an exceptional asset to any farm operation with her welding and repair skills she learned in that course.
