Ok guys. What tools did you get or buy for yourself for Christmas?

I was gifted a Fluke 87V multimeter and a set of Snap-on metric short wrenches, 11mm - 19mm from my son. Both are used, but I ain't complaining!!

It was a pretty light Christmas for me and the Mrs, but I did get a Crescent adjustable spud wrench to replace the cheap Princess auto Titan I have. It being one of my most used tools on the job these days, I wanted to replace it with something better. Sadly, I'm not at all impressed with the quality of it, and will probably upgrade it to something else in the near future. Will have to head over to Harry Epstein's to browse for something higher quality. Or forge my own from one of the many old adjustables I have around here.....

Also got some Mircosol coolant so I can finally fill the sump on the Tormach and get that making chips again chewing through the backlog of unfinished projects that have piled up all year. Whenever it gets here that is....

My oldest son and the grandkids surprised me with a Milwawkee M18 Utility Fencing stapler and a case of staples. It's going to be almost fun fixing fence this spring.
That is an awesome tool, you are going to be very popular with that on your belt the girls will be amazed at your ability to pen them in. I never knew they carried such a thing but would be so handy in a few professions.

We have a local company that carries spud wrenches. I believe they have modified the original design. I've used them and they are top notch quality. They ship world wide. They also invented the miners wrench.

Thank you for the recommendation. Looks like a great tool, and exactly what I'm looking for. Funny, all the thousands of dollars I've spent on machinist/toolmakers tools over the past 20 years, and I now make more money with an adjustable spud and hammer than I ever did with those boxes of fancy tools....Way out of whack if you ask me.....But I'm not complaining now.

Geez, I don't think there are any fasteners in my MacBooks that need a wrench that large! Windows laptops are really different.

Looks good, though.

Ok here goes. I got a cool mostly non-functional pair of goggles...and I bought myself a new to me lathe.
I bought a pair of those goggles from Lee Valley years ago. At the time, the offered tinted lenses as well, which I bought, and like for extended brazing work. The limited peripheral vision is sometimes inconvenient, though. I was using them while torch-cutting apart a crappy workbench made from 3”x1/4” angle. Severed one of the legs (poor planning on my part) and didn’t see it fall. Right onto my foot, on end, just behind the steel toe. Clean break, healed up quick.

Ouch!!

Only thing I received were my MariTool ER16 Hex Collets:

4mm, 1/4" & 5/16" for grinding screwdriver bits (thanks again, @thestelster !).

I was a little disappointed that the collets weren't shipped in tubes to protect them a little better than the bubble envelope, but I was impressed to see that MariTool knows how to reduce tooling being lost in the mail:

My Bosch PS21 1/4" Hex Driver isn't due until the 3rd, so even though I placed the order on the 25th, this one is a New Year's Tool.

You guys are a bad influence: I'm pretty sure my tool purchases have gone up since I joined this Forum (which was Dave @mmcmdl 's doing)!
